Message from the President

The Yaskawa Principles states that our mission is to contribute broadly to social development and human welfare through the execution of our business, and this is the very reason for our existence.
Based on the Yaskawa Principles, we have contributed to the resolution of customers’ management issues as well as social issues by improving the quality and productivity of manufacturing worldwide for more than 100 years since our founding.

Our basic approach to sustainability is to contribute to society through the execution of our business, and to realize a sustainable society and increase our corporate value as a result.
Based on the Yaskawa Principles, we have formulated a sustainability policy and set materiality based on the policy. As specific measures to achieve these, we are working on long-term and mid-term business plans.
We have set six materialities from two perspectives: “Create Social Value and Solve Social Issues through Business Activities” and “Strengthen Management Foundation that Contributes to Sustainable Society/Businesses.” We set and disclose individual targets to measure our progress in materiality, and at the Sustainability Committee, which meets twice a year, management, including outside directors, discuss how we have contributed to society and how we can continue to do so in the future.

In our ongoing mid-term business plan, “Realize 25,” we set “contribute to a sustainable society through the solution concept “i3-Mechatronics” as our Business Value.
We believe that our “i3-Mechatronics” does not simply realize labor-saving and manpower-saving, but also leads to the improvement and evolution of production activities throughout society by providing solutions to a wide range of management issues. The solution concept “i3-Mechatronics” is not only our group’s business itself, but also a solution for achieving sustainability.

We are also fostering the “One YASKAWA” corporate culture through deepening our understanding of the Yaskawa Principles. Understanding the role that each employee has been assigned to achieve our business objectives leads to the job satisfaction of employees. Furthermore, we strive to improve the job satisfaction by active investments in human capital and education, as well as promoting diversity and inclusion.

Through these initiatives, Yaskawa Group will contribute to realizing a sustainable society.
