YASKAWA Electric (Shenyang) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of YASKAWA Electric Corporation (President: Junji Tsuda) located in the Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Liaoning Province, China, started operations at its second factory in June 2012.

　In June 2012, two years after starting production in June 2010, YASKAWA Electric (Shenyang) reached cumulative shipments of 100,000 units. In the first half of fiscal 2012, increasing orders associated with smartphones has supported growth in shipments in China, while we have started exporting from China to Europe, North America and other Asian countries.

　With the already strong demand for servo amplifiers and servo motors expected to continue to grow in China, YASKAWA Electric (Shenyang) has expanded and improved its production lines. Expansion will enable the company to provide a stable supply of products and aim for the goal of becoming the world’s leading servo-drive manufacturing base.

　The production line for the small and medium capacity amplifiers has been moved from the first factory to the new second factory. In addition, a spindle motor stator production line has been constructed and is now operating. Current manufacturing operations occupy only part of the new factory. YASKAWA Electric (Shenyang) plans to use the vacant space to make controllers and parts, and perform other activities. Along with these measures, the company will realign production lines at its first factory.

　In the second half of fiscal 2012, YASKAWA Electric (Shenyang) plans to establish a development center for the purpose of providing timely solutions to customers in China. The first task of the center will be to add the ability to customize standardized products in order to meet customers’ needs in a timely manner. YASKAWA Electric (Shenyang) also plans to manufacture parts that will be used by Yaskawa’s robot manufacturing subsidiary in the city of Changzhou in the Chinese province of Jiangsu. Taking these steps will further reinforce the Yaskawa Group’s ability to serve customers with an integrated framework covering manufacturing, sales and technology.
